Computation is now an essential part of modern life. Every day we write mail, share photographs, play music, read the news and pay bills using our personal computers. Engineers use computers to design cars and airplanes, meteorologists use computers to predict the weather, pharmaceutical companies use computers to design new drugs, and investment firms use computational models to predict whether complex transactions are likely to succeed. Modern astronomers also rely heavily on computation. Computers perform calculations that track the movement of planets, asteroids and comets, keeping an eye out for bodies that pose a potential hazard to the Earth. The emphasis is on how computation helps people to know basic concepts in computer science. This series is based on Windows 7 and covers Ms Office 2010.
